Logging in
First you enter the URL for NovusCMS into your browser. Your administrator can give this URL to you.
Enter your user name and password. Now click the Log In button

Find the Create New Page link on the left navigation. Click that.

Fill out the information you see on the page. Page name in the Web Page URL CAN NOT contain spaces or characters, letters only.
Content Title is the title for this page: Home Page, Biography ....
Keywords and Page Description are optional to give more information about this page. When you are finished, click Create New Page

Now you will see this page appear.  Notice the comment No Layout selected. Before you can add content you must first select the layout for this page. Click Choose Layout.

Here you will see  library of page layouts you can choose from. Select any one of them by clicking on the button next to it and scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting Save.
Repeating Templates
Repeating templates provide you with a consistent structure for your page.
They repeat when you fill in content and click the “Save” Button.
At this point you can add more content and click “Save” to see the template repeat another time.

You will now notice the layout you selected is noted on this page.
Now you are ready to add content. Click on Edit Content.

You are almost finished.
You will see the image added to your page.
Now let’s Click Save and Exit

Finding existing pages
All of your pages are located in the My Pages area on the left navigation.
My Pages has four sub sets
Published pages – these are currently published
Pages in workflow – these are pages you are still working on
Not Published – these were once published and later unpublished
Rejected pages – These are pages rejected by your content reviewer.
Click on My Pages
Using the drop down arrow in the center of the page
Select the group of pages you want to look in
Click the View button to see those pages

When you see the pages listed
You open the page by clicking on the name of the page
This will take you  to the editing screen you saw earlier
Adding a Picture to your Library
It is time to add a picture or image to your Private Library.
Click on Picture Management

Now you can select your Private Library to add a picture to it.
Click on your Private Library now.
Only administrators can add pictures to your Public Library.

Now you can select Upload a new Picture
"An Image description is required"
An Image description is required.
Then browse to the image you want to upload.
Now click the Upload button.

After upload, the picture you selected is available in your Private Library.
You can add it to pages when editing a page.
You may add new pictures to your Library at any time.
Uploading Files
Files can be Word, Excel, PowerPoint or other files like PDFs’.
Once a file is in your library you can link to it by choosing a page layout with a File Link in it.
Files are uploaded to your Private File Library, exactly like Pictures.

Adding a link to a File on your web page
First you open the web page you want to add the file link to.
Then you select a template that has a file link in it.
Then you link to the file.
The file must be in your library before you begin this process so upload it first.
Linking to a file
Open a page and select Change Layout
Find a template image that has a link in it.
Select that for your page Layout
Click the Edit Content
"Make sure you add a..."
Make sure you add a caption in the hyperlink caption area. This is the caption your page viewers see.
Now click on the Select File button to go to your file library.
Be sure to set Open in a new window to Yes.

From your file library, select the file you would like to link to by clicking the Select File Button.
If you want to view a file before choosing it click the View File button
If you do not want a file link here click the No File button.
You can now save and exit and preview your page.

You can edit your left navigation bar to link to your pages.
The left navigation bar on your site is called a Design Element.
You will find it in the section called Design Elements
Editing your left navigation
Click on Design Elements
You should see one listed that has “Left Nav” in the name
Click on the name for that element

You enter the caption you want and the name of the page on your site you want to link to
Your page name goes in the Target area and must have .html at the end of it
When you save you get more links on this repeating template
When finished click save and exit and you are ready to preview pages
Tips on editing the Left Nav
You must add the .html extension to pages you are linking to.
If you want to link to a web page that is not on your site you will have to enter the entire URL starting with HTTP:// in the Target area.
Your links will not work if you are linking to one of your pages that is not published. Get your pages published before adding them to your left nav.
