Creating Web Pages (3 hours)
(Open to RPS staff only) Participants will use the NovuSolution interface to create a teacher website for classroom. Please pre-register as the presenter must create a skeleton site for your use prior to the class.

Work Session - Creating Web Pages - (3 hours)
(Open to RPS staff only) This is open to staff wishing to work on their web page. Trainers will be available to assist with issues as they arise. Participants need to be somewhat familar with the NovuSolution interface. Please pre-register as available spots for these sessions will be very limited. Registration - Please fax a registration (No session number is required...Only the date to Geri Bonilla at the Board Office. (FAX:966-3157)

Excel (6 hours)
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that teachers can use to organize, analyze, and attractively present numerical data such as a budgets and test data. Learning the basics will include how to create, save and edit worksheets, use formulas and functions, and work with charts.

Grade Quick (3 hours)
Teachers will learn how to set their grading symbols, scale, assignments, school calendar, weight grades and create reports for parents and administration.

Inspiration (3 hours)
The Inspiration graphical organizer is geared to grades 6-12. This tool can be used in a wide variety of ways to enhance the curriculum. One software license will be available to RPS attendees to install on one computer in their classroom. They will also be able to install it on their home computer.

K-5 Elementary Report Card (Excel version) (3 hours)
Microsoft Excel templates for the district report card simplifies this. Learn how to enter repetitive information into multiple cells, analyze the entire class, print, save and backup information. BRING YOUR GRADE BOOK!

Kidspiration (3 hours)
This is the K-5 version of the Inspiration graphical organizer. This tool can be used in a wide variety of ways to enhance the curriculum. Lesson Planning Using Technology (3 hours)
Teachers will learn to use District lesson planning website in conjunction with MS Word and Excel to create lesson plans.

Mail Merge (3 hours)
Teachers will learn to use Excel and/or Access to create labels and then mail merge documents.

Microsoft Office - Make-it Take-it Projects for the Classroom (6 hours)
Teachers will learn to use MS Office to create incentives for students and time saving files to make their lives easier. A working knowledge of MS Word is a prerequisite.

Microsoft Outlook (Web Based) (3 hours)
This workshop is geared to the Web-based version of Outlook. Teachers will learn to compose and send e-mail, attach files, find names, and create contacts. Please notify Tim 2 weeks prior to the class if you do not have an e-mail address.

PowerPoint (6 hours)
Microsoft PowerPoint is a program that helps teachers plan, organize, and design educational presentations. Learning the basics will include how to create, save, and edit a presentation, adding objects to slides, and enhancing your presentation. Learn how to incorporate this program into your everyday teaching experience.

PowerPoint Interactive Activities (6 hours)
Intermediate ability with Microsoft PowerPoint is a pre-requisite. Teachers will learn to create interactive games to be used by students to practice knowledge in science, social studies, etc. Using interactive games is an ideal way to involve students and keep their attention while making learning fun. You will download PowerPoint Interactive templates for Jeopardy for the Classroom, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, Hollywood Squares, and The Weakest Link. The morning will be for instruction and the afternoon will be devoted to building activities related to your curriculum. Come with projects related to your curriculum for the afternoon (i.e. vocabulary, concepts, etc.)

Publisher (6 hours)
Microsoft Publisher is a program that helps teachers create newsletters, web pages, and a variety of documents used in an educational environment. Teachers will be taught to use wizards, add clipart, and insert digital photos. Mini projects are designed not only to teach the application, but to demonstrate its use in an educational setting.

The Internet for Teachers (3 hours)
Teachers will have an opportunity to become familiar with filters, search engines, and Internet resources specific for teachers. This information will assist teachers in integrating technology across the curriculum.(3 CPDUs) return to top

SRI Management for RIS's (3 hours)
Reading Instructional Specilaists will have an opportunity to become more familiar with the SRI Management System. This information will assist RIS's in utilizing the SRI to plan for instruction.(6 CPDUs) return to top

TIE 2000 (3 hours)
TIE 2000 is an instructional management system used in several mandated district assessments. Learn to lesson plans, score assessments, create reports, perform item analysis, view instructional groupings, see detailed student information.

Using Excel to Analyze Assessment Data (3 hours)
Attendees will learn to use filter/sort, countif, autofilter and conditional format commands to work with student achievement data

Windows XP OS and File Management (3 hours)
Microsoft Windows XP is the operating system for most new district computers. Learn to create folders, organize and backup important files, perform critical updates, and other valuable tricks that will save time and increase your comfort level with the computer.

Word (Beginning) (6 hours)
Microsoft Word is a word processing program that helps teachers quickly and efficiently create documents such as letters, memos, and reports. Learning the basics will include how to create, save and edit documents, format text, work with tables and more.

Focus on Working With Paragraphs, Tabs and Indents, Working with Themes, Form Toolbar, Inserting Fields, Templates.
